What can I change in 30-days?

Well, that is a wonderful question.  It really depends on how you define change and what your criteria is.  If you define change as going from poor to rich, then probably not possible in 30 days.  However, it is completely possible for you to define change as going from no skills to basic graphic design skills in 30 days which may open up new opportunities for a better income.  Changing your life is not about going from rich to poor or couch potato to a premier athlete.  It is about accomplishing defined goals that add building blocks to get you closer to your desires or dreams.

The problem with dreams is that they are often too large and we lose focus.  If you really want to reach them, you have to set a path and use that path to get you closer every day.  The 30-day goal challenge helps you define something specific that you can achieve and then use to build into larger goals.  Continue on and we will show you how to do this!

Are You Ready To Commit For 30-Days?

The 30-Day Goal Commitment Pledge

“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

-Kenneth Blanchard

YOUR PLEDGE

I pledge to myself, that I will set a goal that is obtainable, reasonable, but not to easy where I will commit for 30-days the rules I have defined so that I can measure results and the impacts my goal has made.

Why 30-days?  Because it is long enough to have an impact, short enough so that you don’t lose interest, and enough time to measure results.  In order to make a change, you must first see results, build confidence, and learn.  If you can make the commitment, you will have taken the first step to controlling your path to achievement.

Ok, let’s do this!

Tools for Success

Committing to a 30-day goal is hard work and it is important to have a defined goal, a clear outcome, and results you can measure.  Here are some tools to help you get started so that you can succeed.

Goal Setting

How do you set a good goal to start?

The Plan

How is the goal broken down so that you can understand what you need to do each day.

Criteria for Success

What criteria should you set?

The Rules

How to set rules for your plan so that you succeed.

The Rules

To truly succeed you net a set of rules to follow.  Setting the rules will depend on the goal and plan you create.  For example, if you are doing the whole 30 diet, the rules are set.  No sugar, no alcohol, no gluten, no grains, and no dairy.  Do this for 30-days and you will learn a lot about your body and lose weight in the process.  Cheat, and some of the benefits will not become apparent.

Setting the rules should be a stretch and strict enough that it causes changes in behavior, after all, that is what we are trying to do.  Rules that you already follow will not help you achieve growth personally, physically, or mentally.  Identify the rules that will make your goal achievable and stick to it.  That is it.

Goals

Define To Succeed

While this may seem to be the easiest part of the program it is actually the hardest and most important. The goal can’t be impossible but should be something that stretches your comfort level.  It should be S.M.A.R.T – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely.  Break large goals into small pieces that you can achieve in the course of 30-days.

Words Matter

It is important to give yourself a positive goal and eliminate the cliches with the actual things you want.  For example, a common goal “I want to lose weight” is poorly defined and worded.  Why do you want to lose weight?  Live longer, have more energy, look better, or 100’s of different reasons.  A better goal statement “I want to eliminate junk food for 30-days so that I can run a 5K”.  We have made the goal S.M.A.R.T

An Example

Let’s say someday you want to run a marathon and you have never ran more than a mile. That is a great goal to have and accomplish, but it is not a good choice for the 30-day program.  Don’t lose hope though, break it down into manageable pieces like running a 5K.  That is possible if you follow a training program and improve your diet.  Here is a great 5K training program to show you what it would look like.

Goal Building Blocks

  • Must be achievable, but not easy.
  • Must be something you can measure.
  • Builds a new skill or enables you to grow
  • It is a piece of a larger overall goal
  • It makes you happy and builds your confidence.
  • Optional: It has a commitment at the end that you don’t have the skills to do today but will in 30-days.

A Plan For Success

Developing a plan is the most important part after defining a goal.  Whether it is improving your health, making more money, developing a new skill, or simply enriching your life, you need to break the goal into daily tasks.  For money, it is simple, if you want to earn $1,000 over a 30-day period you would need to earn $33 per day.  If each customer brought you $17, then you would need two new customers a day.  You would then figure out how to accomplish that task.

The best way to create your plan is to break it down into daily components and then build a plan around the smaller components.  It is much easier to build a plan to get two customers than to get 60.  The idea is to find small things that you can achieve consistently to deliver a larger result.
